Betty Earlene Robertson

Betty Robertson (Mahoney) was born in Decatur, GA, on February 21, 1937. In her youth, she enjoyed softball and powder-puff races. She lived in Battle Creek, MI, where she had 3 sons. She moved to Joliet, IL, and had 1 daughter. In late 1969, Betty moved to Muskogee, OK, where she set her roots and had another daughter. In 1972, Betty and her oldest son, Terry, partnered in business and started United Auto Volume Dealer, a used car lot, that lasted over 30 years. At one time, United Auto was the largest independent used lot in Oklahoma. Betty and Terry worked 14-hour days to have a successful, honest business. They had a very reputable car store. All of her children and some grandchildren were employed there as well. In 1990, Betty and her son became silent partners at Sequoyah Bay East on Lake Ft. Gibson. In 1991, on Memorial Day weekend, they took over the marina and changed the name to Paradise Cove Marina. The marina had 20 covered slips. Betty and all her children built the marina up to 400 covered slips and 85 storage sheds. Betty sold the marina in 2023. In 1997, Betty and Terry purchased Eufaula Cove Marina, which at the time had 137 covered slips. By 2007, when they sold it, they had built it up to 400 covered slips. Betty also had multiple partnerships in various buildings and properties in Muskogee with her oldest son. In 2002, they sold the car store, and she and 2 kids went to Paradise Cove Marina, and the other 3 went to Eufaula Cove Marina. Betty's motto was "Get to Work." Her children often referred to her as "The White Tornado." She employed and worked with all her children until her passing. She always made it a family business/partnership. In 2007, she married the love of her life, Bob Robertson of Tahlequah, OK, and learned about cows, steers, bulls, and the nature of running a cattle farm. She loved Bob, and at the end, she just wanted to be home with him. Betty is now reunited with her parents, Edwin Hale Mahoney and Ruby Estelle Bagwell; sisters, Louise Springer, Millie Johnson, and Irene Walker; brothers, Hale Eugene Mahoney and Raymond Sterling Mahoney; daughter, Rhonda Burnett; and son, Terry Burnett. Betty's surviving family include Bob Robertson, her husband; sons, Michael Davis and wife Ruby, of Ft. Gibson and Tim Davis, Sr. and wife Jamie, of Ft. Gibson; daughters, Rainy Garner and husband Aaron, of Hulbert and Ann Davis and partner Vicki, of Hulbert; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Mahoney; daughter-in-law, Carol Burnett; numerous nieces and nephews; and the extended Robertson family that she loved dearly. Betty's life will be celebrated 10AM, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Reverend Joey Ferland officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson.
