David Robert McGee, 72, of Muskogee, Oklahoma was born October 1, 1953, in Muskogee to Leland and Oleta (Ballinger) McGee and passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026. David, a dedicated and compassionate individual, graduated from Muskogee High School and pursued further education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, where he obtained a master's degree in counseling psychology. From 1989 to 1990, he worked at the Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to helping others. David served with distinction at Green Country Behavioral Health Services from 1986 until his passing. He passionately participated in various organizations, serving as president of both the Tulsa Dahlia Society and the Tulsa Koi Society, and was an active member of the American Psychological Association. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Muskogee, he cherished the bonds of worship and fellowship. David's vibrant interests included cultivating exquisite exhibition dahlias, caring for his beloved dogs and koi ponds, and he took great pride in his meaningful work with numerous mental health clients, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. He will be missed by all. He is now reunited with his parents, Leland Clay McGee and Oleta Pearl (Ballinger) McGee; and his brother, Leland Clay McGee, Jr. David is lovingly survived by his sister, Patricia McGee Aytes; his niece, Laurie Aytes Pettit; his great-niece, Leta Pettit; and his best friend, John Cooper; extended family; and many friends. David's life will be celebrated 1PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Muskogee with Brother Gary McGee officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with John Cooper and Anthony Stambaugh serving as casket bearers. The family respectfully requests that beautiful colors and floral patterns be worn at the service to reflect the bright and beautiful impact that David left on the lives of everyone that he crossed paths with.
