Terry Dean Rhyne

Terry Dean Rhyne, 74, of Fort Gibson, was born November 12, 1951, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Charles and Geraldine (Mattingly) Rhyne. He passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of his family. Terry received his education locally and later spent many dedicated years working as a forklift operator for Brockway Glass. He was known as a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. He married the love of his life, Carol Jean Cook, and together they shared many wonderful years before her passing in 2021. Terry loved Carol deeply and always made sure she knew it; he would have given her the moon if he could. The two enjoyed spending time together going to the Big Picture Show in Muskogee and dancing at the American Legion, making many cherished memories along the way. Terry was a well-known and respected member of the Fort Gibson community. He was a good man with a kind heart who valued family above all else. He cherished the time he spent with those he loved and was always proud to talk about his family to anyone who would listen. In his spare time, Terry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved watching NASCAR races on Sundays and football throughout the weekends, and he enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. He also took pride in working on his own vehicles. His daughter, Christi, often helped him by holding tools or loosening parts, and those moments spent side by side meant a great deal to her. Terry passed along not only knowledge about fixing cars, but also the value of patience, hard work, and spending time together. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his daughter, Christi, his family, or anyone in need. Terry also had a playful sense of humor that his family will always remember. When someone asked where he was going, he would often reply with a grin, “Ten Buck Two.” If the kids asked to go along, he would jokingly tell them that kids couldn’t go to “Ten Buck Two.” Those little moments of humor brought smiles to the people around him and are memories his family will hold close to their hearts. Terry was a loving husband, father, and family man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and his brother, Charles. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Terry Jean Rhyne, Christina Nail, and Misty Rhyne, all of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Miranda Rhyne of Fort Gibson, Hunter Torix of Fort Gibson, Jasmine Torix of Muskogee, and Blaizz Torix of Muskogee; great-grandchildren, Jayda Torix of Muskogee and Greyson Rhyne of Fort Gibson; sister, Linda Delmedico and husband Veto of Fort Gibson; extended family and many friends. Terry’s celebration of life will be held 1PM Friday, March 20, 2026, at Citizens Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson, with Pastor Don Rhyne officiating.
